Reid Stephenson

Wednesday, July 31st, 1929 Tuesday, April 27th, 2021.

Peacefully at the Maxville Manor on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 Lovell Reid Stephenson of Maxville, formerly of Montreal; age 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne Ann (née Morley). Lovingly remembered by his three children, Ann of Toronto, Jim (Carma Williams) of Maxville, John of Toronto. Loving Grandfather of Jesse (Erin Legue) of Maxville and Lauren (Tyler Monture) of Brantford.

Born in Montreal, Reid was a Montrealer at heart. It is where he raised his family and spent his working career in the financial services (Montreal Trust). Reid and Yvonne moved to Maxville in 2000 and settled in Glen Garden Village. In both Montreal and Maxville, his new adopted home, Reid was known as a man about town. Reid’s main form of transportation was by foot. Whether it was strolling along Sherbrooke Street in Montreal or walking “into town” in Maxville, the passerby was sure to receive a tip of the hat and friendly nod. At the young age of 70, Reid took up curling in Maxville and enjoyed the sport and social time for many years.

Reid was a great supporter of the Maxville Manor long before he became a resident. He sat on the Board of Directors for many years and was a volunteer well into his 80’s. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of the Maxville Manor for their exceptional kindness and care.

A private celebration of life will take place in Montreal at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main Street South, Maxville, ON (613-527-2898). As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Maxville Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Reid, a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.  Online messages of condolence may be made at www.munromorris.com
