The family is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Rene Joseph Richard. Rene, best known as Dick, was the son of the late Sara and Euclide Richard. He is survived by his daughter Sylvie (Pierre Morin), his stepdaughters Leigh (Alan MacDonald), Roxanne Delage, and Rhonda Carriere, siblings Mona (Claude Tourigny), Juliette Richard, Louise (Fernand Mondoux), Carole (Gary Katz), Suzanne (Roger Lalonde), Bernard (Beverly), Robert “Gus” (Brenda), grandchildren Jennifer Morin, Natasha Morin, Josée Richard, step grandson Cole MacDonald (Alysia), and great-grandchildren Charly, Maddy, and Malcolm. He was predeceased by his wife Colena, his daughter Lise, son Claude, the mother of his children, Hélène, and his siblings Rita Hannon, Noëlla Binette, Maurice Richard, Anita Rossignol, and Thérêse Lebrun. Dick was a long time employee at the Domtar Paper Mill and in his youth was well known for his broomball skills. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes East Branch 614 First St. East (613-933-2841). A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, in St. Félix de Valois Church at 11 a.m. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery.
