STRUTHERS, René William – Suddenly at Cornwall Community Hospital on Friday November 5, 2021 at the age of 74 years. René Struthers of Summerstown was the retired owner of Rogers Marina. All who knew René know he was a true outdoorsman and river man, hardworking and loved to ski, hunt, boat, fish, and cottage life. Beloved husband of his cherished wife of 50 years Lise (née Allaire) Struthers. Loving father of Marc (Christina), Yves (Nancy) both of Summerstown and Adèle Struthers (Louis Zuffellato) of St. Anicet. Proud Grand-papa of Nicholas, André, Matteo and Raiden. Dear brother of the late Claire Aubé and the late Leo Struthers. Sisters Hélène Struthers of Cornwall, Annette Frigault (Jacques Lavoie) of St. Moise and Colette Struthers (Randy) of Cornwall. Dear son of the late George Struthers and the late Madeleine (née Bourdeau) Struthers. Predeceased by his niece Natalie. Also predeceased by his best friend Robert Blanchard. René will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, his special friends Ben and Raquel, Doug and Toby, and his longtime friends Ted and Brigite and all who knew him. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482).In keeping with René’s wishes a private Celebration of life will be held by his family at a later date.
