A young soul taken too soon. Ricky Dale Poirier, as his friends called him Rick, passed away mid-afternoon at the Cornwall Community Hospital after a long fighting battle with respiratory distress. A loving son to Rose Walker and John Poirier, a loving husband to Mary-Jean Poirier (Lauzon) a loving brother to Adele Gauthier, Marie Bazinet, Gabrielle Watters, Rebecca Russell, Johnny Poirier, and Gail Primeau. A loving father to Penny Poirier, Lena Wicks (Poirier) Shannon Poirier, and Karen Primeau (Poirier). A loving uncle to Angele, Sylvain, Nancy, Stacey, Karrey, Jacob, Gilbert, Shyanne, Darcy, Mark, Reggie, Chantal, and Scott. A loving grandfather to Brittany, Dakota, Destiny, Ricky, Kori, Kayl, Dustyn, and Haydn. A ceremony will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery (17945 South Branch Road, Cornwall, Ontario, K6H-0C8).
