Sunday, November 11th, 1962 – Saturday, August 7th, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Russel Taylor announce his passing on August 7, 2021 at the age of 58. Rob will be lovingly remembered by his children Aaron (Lianne), Sarah and Jordan, grandchildren Chloe and Sophie, sister Robyn Denis (Louis), brother Randy (Dianne), nephew Mathieu Denis (Kathleen) and numerous extended family and friends. Rob was predeceased by his beloved son Andrew and parents Robert and Rhonda Taylor (nee Shepherd). Rob will always be remembered for his love of family, his contribution to the game of basketball and his brilliant mind. To quote Christopher Reeve, “I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Special thanks to his dear friend Jonathan Sskenaali, Dr. Paul Irwin, Dr. Laurie McLean, Dr. Clara Leigh and his incredible team of personal support workers and nurses who all helped Rob live his best life at home in Long Sault. As per Rob’s wishes, a private family service will take place and he will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Cornwall. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt St., Cornwall (613-938-3888). As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family for the wonderful care Rob received there.
