Robert Wesley Lane Bedingfield

Passed away peacefully at Woodland Villa, Long Sault, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Robert was born in Massena, New York on September 2, 1930. Robert is predeceased by his beloved wife Frances Bedingfield (née Healy) of Montréal, whom he married on April 23, 1952. Remembered by his sons Stephen (Lynn) of Yellowknife, John (Corinna) of Ingleside, and Stuart (Dot) of Mountain, and seven grandchildren: Patrick, Raván, Jordan, Dustin, Stephanie, Samantha, Chelsea, and several great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by his sister Shirley Wells. Predeceased by his parents Wesley and Verna (Lane) Bedingfield. Robert “Bob” will be long remembered for his love of sports, in particular hockey, golfing, and curling, and his sense of sportsmanship and fair play. In his work the name Bob Bedingfield was synonymous with the Standard-Freeholder where he had a long career in advertising. Perhaps more than anything else, Bob will be remembered for his cheerful nature, good humour, and his quiet services to the community and those in need.
A private funeral service will be held prior to interment. The family welcomes contributions to the Lost Villages Historical Society ( https://lostvillages.ca ) in loving memory of Robert Bedingfield.
