SMELT, Rosemary – Mrs. Rosemary Smelt at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall on Wednesday November 20, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles Michael Smelt. Loved mother of Andrew, Graham, (Suzanne), Richard (Karen), and Christopher (Barbara). Cherished “Meme” to her grandchildren Thomas, Jeremy (Aisling), Harriet, Charles, Benjamin, Jessica, Holly, Matilda, Oliver, Miranda, and her great-grandchild Lochlan. Dear sister of Robin Knight (Maggie). Predeceased by her parents Richard and Olive (née Handley) Knight. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care Rosemary received from the St. Joseph’s Quinn House staff. She will be missed by her family and close friends whom she loved to spend time with, often drinking tea and usually peppered with Rosemary’s signature sense of humour. A Funeral service will be celebrated at Trinity Anglican Church, 105 Second Street West, Cornwall on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation. Following the funeral all are invited to light lunch in the parish hall. If so desired, contributions in her memory to the Cornwall Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
