Célébration de la vie de Sam
C’est maintenant le temps. Le 17 octobre 2020 marquera sept mois passés depuis le départ de Sam. Après beaucoup de discussions et de planification, nous sommes prêts à célébrer sa vie. Ce sera différent. Ce n’est pas ce que Sam envisageait. Elle souhaitait un gros « party » avec beaucoup de monde. Mais la pandémie que nous vivons présentement nous empêche de nous réunir; nous allons quand même célébrer sa vie et honorer sa mémoire. Nous avons choisi Octobre parce que ce mois a une signification particulière pour Sam et Nick.
La famille de Sam et Nick vous invitent à marquer la date du 17 octobre 2020 sur vos calendriers. Cette journée-là, une cérémonie privée pour la famille seulement aura lieu. Cependant, la cérémonie et des témoignages seront enregistrés et disponibles subséquemment sur le site web de la maison funéraire Glengarry.
Une fois l’enregistrement disponible en ligne (prévoir environ une semaine), nous vous invitons à vous connecter dans l’esprit que Sam souhaitait:
• Choisissez un temps approprié pour visionner la cérémonie;
• Tel que demandé par Sam, portez du jaune ou des couleurs vives de votre choix;
• Dans le cours de la cérémonie, il y aura un toast porté à la vie de Sam. Préparez votre boisson favorite et levez votre verre en l’honneur de Sam;
• Prenez une photographie de votre toast et faite-là parvenir à : brent@glengarryfuneralhome.com. Nous créerons une mosaïque de toutes les photos reçues, qui seront ajoutées à une vidéo de célébration de la vie de Sam, qui sera remise à la famille.
Pour les personnes résidantes ou à proximité d’Alexandria, vous avez l’occasion d’offrir vos condoléances en personne, dans le respect des règles sanitaires en vigueur.
Famille et amis sont invités à offrir leurs condoléances au moyen d’une visite au volant, qui se tiendra à la maison funéraire Glengarry, 580 rue Main sud, Alexandria (613) 525-3400 le samedi, 17 octobre 2020, de 12h00 – 15h00. Les visiteurs pourront arrêter leurs véhicules sous une large tente ouverte située dans le stationnement de la maison funéraire afin d’offrir leurs condoléances à la famille; cependant, en raison des règles de distanciation en vigueur, les visiteurs ne seront pas autorisés à sortir de leur véhicule. Un enterrement privé réservé à la famille immédiate, suivra.
La famille de Sam et Nick vous remercie et souhaite que tous ceux et celles qui ont connus et aimés Sam participeront à la célébration de sa vie.

Sam’s Celebration of Life
It is time. On October 17, 2020, it will be seven months since Sam’s passing. After much discussion and planning, we are ready to celebrate her life. It will be different. It is not what Sam envisioned. She wanted to have a big party with lots of people. But the current pandemic prevents us from gathering; we will nevertheless celebrate her life and honor her memory. We chose October as this is a very special month for Sam and Nick.
Nick and Sam’s family invite you to mark your calendar for Saturday, October 17, 2020. On that day, a private ceremony will be held with invited family members only. However, the ceremony and tributes will be taped and available subsequently on the web site of the Glengarry Funeral Home.
Once the ceremony is made available online (please allow about a week), we ask that you help us connect as a group, in the spirit of what Sam wanted:
• Choose an appropriate time to view the ceremony;
• As requested by Sam, wear yellow or bright colors of your choice;
• There will be a time in the ceremony to toast Sam’s life. Prepare your favorite beverage and raise your glass to Sam;
• Take a picture of you or your group toasting to Sam’s life, and forward it to brent@glengarryfuneralhome.com. We will create a mosaic of all the pictures received which will be also added to Sam’s celebration of life video that will be provided to the family.
For those of you that are local or in proximity to Alexandria you will have the opportunity of paying your respects in person while still respecting distancing protocols.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects by way of a Drive-Thru Visitation to be held at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Saturday, October 17, from 12:00 to 15:00. Visitors will be permitted to stop their vehicle under a large open tent situated in the parking area of the funeral home to convey their condolences to the family ; but due to social distancing regulations, visitors will not be permitted to exit their vehicle. A private burial for immediate family will be held afterward.
Nick and Sam’s family thank you and hope that all those who knew and loved Sam will participate in celebrating her life.
