Sean “Sully” Sullivan

Sean Patrick “Sully” Sullivan passed away suddenly on October 23, 2021 in Calgary, Alberta. He went to be with his mother in Heaven at the age of 51. Sean, beloved son of Raymond and the late Pauline Sullivan (née Chisholm), was born in Cornwall, Ontario on March 10, 1970. He graduated from École Secondaire La Citadelle in 1989. He then went on to pursue studies at Ottawa University and Sutherland-Chan in Toronto where he received his registered certification in Massage Therapy. Following graduation, Sean relocated to Calgary, Alberta where he remained until the end of his life. He brought joy to many throughout his 30 year career as an award winning, and highly skilled bartender. His passion for exploration began with backpacking through South America for a year. Since then, he has visited multiple continents including North and South America, Asia and Australia. Sean is survived by his father, Raymond Sullivan, and his two sisters Laurie Kennedy (Kieran) and Lynn Wert (Peter). Sean will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews: Kathryn, Allison, Matthew and Nicholas Wert and Cameron, Logan (Jordan) and Addison Kennedy, as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Also impacted is his prized fish Penelope, who kept him company during the many months of quarantine. Sully will be sadly missed by many friends from Alberta and Ontario. Sean was predeceased by his mother, Pauline Sullivan, his aunts, Lorna Chisholm and Shirley Elliot, his uncle, Cameron Chisholm, and his cousin Kelly Bray. Sean was known for his radiant smile, his charm and his sympathetic ear. Sean’s legacy will live on through the stories he told, and the joy he brought to his cherished friends and patrons along the way. An Irish Wake will be held at the Trolley 5 Brewpub (728 17 Ave SW, Calgary Alberta) on November 7th at 4pm to celebrate his life. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, an attendance controlled visitation will be held at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall, ON (613-932-8482) on Monday November 15, 2021 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. A Celebration of Sean’s life will take place on Tuesday November 16, 2021 in the Memorial chapel of the Funeral home.
