At the Palace Long Term Care, Alexandria on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Shirley Smeall (née McDonald) formerly of Apple Hill; age 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald Smeall. Dear mother of Lee Menard, Sherry St. John (Pete), Sue Menard (Henry), Steven Menard, Allan Menard (Wendy), Mark Menard (Sandy), Robbie Smeall (Ghyslaine) and Donnie Smeall. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving stepmother of Diane Devaul and Cory Kennaway. Shirley will be missed by her sister Barbara Meloche (Camille) and dear friend Henny Lacroix. She is predeceased by her parents Angus and Katie (née Campbell), by her sisters Phyllis (the late Gordie), Viola (the late Ronald) and Idella and by her brothers Ronald (the late Ann), Finley (Shirley), Jack and Johnny and by one grandson, Mark Menard II. A special thank you to the staff at the Bruyére Hospital and the Palace LTC. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. Maxville (613-527-2898). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Maxville Cemetery followed by the burial. Masks and physical distancing are required. If so desired, Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Shirley a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live.
