Obituary for Marie Louise Thérèse Rosa Vaillancourt Dumond December 16, 1924 – November 16, 2021 It is with heavy hearts and tender memories that we share the recent death of our dearest Thérèse on November 16, 2021 after a short stay at the Salvation Army Grace Manor in Ottawa. Thérèse was born on December 16, 1924 in Lancaster, Ontario and died a month short of her 97th birthday. Thérèse is predeceased by her husband, Léonard Arthur Dumond and daughter Suzanne Dumond as well as her parents Zotique Vaillancourt, Délima Poirier, step-mother Juliette Valade and 14 siblings: Archille (Leonie Bertiaume), Daniel (Alice Dixon), Joseph (Marguerite Deschamps), Cécile (Ubald Legault), Blanche (Leo Bourget), Zotique (Rita Boudreault), Rosaire (Claire Archambault), Pauline (Roger Levert), Délima (Dominic Diagostino), Stephen (Lucienne David and Irene Gibeault), Jeannette (Walter Aslanian), Eva, Henri, and Jeanne, Rosa. She is survived by her devoted children, Marlene (Scott Burton) & Richard (Lynn Grandmaison), her loving grand-children: Eric Séguin (Kathryn Maton), Julie Séguin (Rodney Jodoin), Marc Fournier, Alexandre Dumond (Chloé Fadel) & Maxime Dumond (Amy Savage), cherished great grand-children: McKenzie, Damien, Félix, Cédric, Tyler and many precious nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered for her love of knitting, baking and playing cards by dear friends and caregivers at Sandfield Place Retirement Residence in Cornwall, Ontario where she lived for 14 years. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt St. Cornwall, ON. A private family memorial and burial will be held at Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, Montréal, QC.
