With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Viola Roy (née Burnell) at Sandfield Long Term Care at the age of 98, the most positive, sweetest, funniest woman we’ve ever known. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Roy. Loving mother of Diane Gosling (George) of Trenton, Rick Roy (Gale) of Williamstown, Maureen Carriere (Ron) of South Lancaster, Charlene Leger (Norm) of Cornwall, late Valerie Roy MacDonell (Don). She will be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Kelly, Paula, Chris, Mandy, Blake, Adele, Ryan, Shawn, Bruce, Cassie and Jacob; 17 great-grandchildren: Jason, Daniel, Megan, Ben, Ella, Kendra, Paisley, Hudson, Cameron, Lauren, Claire, Oliver, Scarlett, Connor, Hayley, Rylee, Avery, and another great-grandson due in June; 5 great-great grandchildren: Athena, Abigail, Belle, Ronan and Malik. Dear sister of Doris. Viola was the cherished daughter of the late William H. Burnell and the late Rose Boucher. Predeceased by her siblings Ivy, Lawrence, Dora, Frank, Clifford, Gerard, Rita and Floyd. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Sandfield Place and Heritage Heights, you’re the best! Viola’s family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street (613-938-3888) on Friday January 26, 2024 from 9 – 11 a.m. followed by a service in the chapel.
