Walter Osadczuk
Sunday, December 9th, 1945 – Saturday, August 29th, 2020
Walter Osadczuk passed away suddenly, at home on Saturday, August 29 2020 at the age of 74.
Born in Montreal, a career in IT with the St Lawrence Seaway lasting 37 years brought him to Cornwall in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christine Jeffrey and his children James Jeffrey of Montreal and Lianne (Bret Smistad) of Calgary. He was the proud Dido to his grandson, Oliver James Smistad. Wal is predeceased by his parents Mike and Mary Osadczuk, and will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Alice Niemy and Helen Jennings (Patrick). Wal will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Wally was an avid biker, fisherman, and photographer. He was a foodie, wine connoisseur, and a great travel companion. He loved all genres of music, especially when played loudly on quality audio equipment. He lived so many lives through his varied interests, and graciously shared his knowledge with others.
The family would like to personally thank the first responders for their help and guidance. A celebration of life including the interment of his ashes will be held at a later date at the family’s cottage in the Laurentians.
Donations in his memory can be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall. Online condolences may be made at: www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
