Wendy Lee Shoniker (DeRochie)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the quick passing of Wendy Lee Shoniker (née DeRochie) on Monday, January 24th, 2022 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at 66 years of age. Beloved wife of 45 years to the late James (Jim) Shoniker of Summerstown, ON. She will be greatly missed by her cherished cat “C.C. “. Predeceased by her parents Shirley & Robert DeRochie and brother-in-law George Shoniker. She is survived by her brother Stephen DeRochie (Suzanne) of Summerstown and by her sister-in-law Janet Shoniker-McQuillan (Bernie) of Glen-Walter, brothers-in-laws Glen Shoniker (Mary) of Orangeville and Paul Shoniker of Summerstown. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews: Emilie & Annie DeRochie, Sean, Brendan, Katie, Christopher, Kelly, Mackenzie and Thomas Shoniker. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Wendy’s Life will be held at a later date in spring. Wendy will be memorialized at Salem United Church Cemetery in Summerstown, ON. In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Cornwall chapter of the O.S.P.C.A would be appreciated by the family.
