At the Palace Long Term Care, Alexandria on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Wilfred Hughie Pidgeon of Alexandria; age 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Rose Marie Pidgeon (nee Walsh). Loving father of Rose Anne Pidgeon (John McDonald), Charles (Johanne), and Stephen all of Cornwall, David (Manon) of Fassifern, Janet Pidgeon (Michel Normand), and Leonard all of Alexandria, Donald (Jocelyne) of Marionville, Shirley Pidgeon of Ottawa, and John (Valerie) of Riviere-Beaudette. Dear brother of Edward Pidgeon of Cornwall, Paul Pidgeon of Cardinal, Ernest Pidgeon (Linda) of Dorion, and Sue St. Pierre (Lionel) of Cornwall. Predeceased by brothers William, Peter, and Gordon Pidgeon, sisters Josephine Sauvé and Mary Gareau, and by his parents Hughie and Mary Belle Pidgeon (nee McCuaig). Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm –9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Basilica on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1 pm. Masks and social distancing will be required during the visitation and the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Wilfred a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
