William Joseph Murphy
It is with heartfelt sorrow that his Family announces the passing of William Joseph Murphy, age 87, of Avonmore, Ontario at Hospice Cornwall on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Beloved husband of Susan (née Hardie), Bill will be missed by his brother Dan Murphy, sister Louise Zosky (Jack), and many nieces and nephews.
Bill taught at St. Lawrence College (38 years), was involved in coaching and scouting, hockey at various levels, and ran a beef farm and apple orchard for many years of his married life.
Predeceased by his parents Charles and Alice (née Boyle) Murphy, his two sisters Nadine Buhacheski and Marie Prevost and sister-in-law Brenda Murphy.
The Family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Cornwall Community Hospital and Hospice Cornwall for their care and attention to Bill during his stay.
