CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada and The Weather Network are forecasting another weekend of freezing rain and snow for Jan. 25 and 26.
“Precipitation will move into the area Saturday afternoon. This precipitation will most likely begin as a period of freezing rain before transitioning to rain near the St. Lawrence river or snow near the Ottawa river Saturday evening. All areas will transition to snow Saturday night. The snow will then continue into Sunday with up to 10 cm of accumulation possible by Sunday afternoon,” reads a statement from Environment Canada.
According to The Weather Network, rain is expected to begin falling in the area around 1 p.m. before turning into a mix of snow and freezing rain in the evening. Snow will continue throughout Saturday night right to early Monday morning.
Temperatures throughout the weekend will be around 1 degree Celsius as a high, but will feel more like minus 2 to minus 5.
