CORNWALL, Ontario – The 11th annual YourTV Telethon for Carefor Hospice Cornwall takes place this Saturday, Nov. 9 from noon until 6 p.m. on YourTV Cogeco Channel 11.
Last year’s telethon raised $153,000 for Hospice Cornwall, a non-profit organization which raises have of it’s annual budget through donations.
This year will see a strong roster of musical guests including Landslide, Til Whenever, Kevin Rivette, Mike McAnnany, Barry and Company and Syd Gardiner.
Alongside the musical acts, there will also be testimonials from family members who stayed at Hospice Cornwall.
“We are very grateful for them sharing their stories with us,” said Sandy Collette, Fundraising Coordinator for Hospice Cornwall. “We are bringing them back to a painful time in their lives, so we are very fortunate that they are willing to open to us.”
The money raised this year will go towards the hospice’s operating budget and also towards the replacement of the televisions in patients rooms.
Carefor Cornwall hopes to replace patient televisions with Smart ones that would allow them to have video calls with loved ones who cannot be with them during their time at hospice.
