CORNWALL, Ontario – On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Intact Insurance and local Intact broker Warner Insurance contributed $4,500 to support mental health services in Cornwall.

They presented a cheque for that amount to Cornwall’s Sunrise Rotary Club and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) who will use the funds to support their programs.

“We are very pleased to support the Rotary Club and the Sunrise Foundation Inc so they may continue the great support for youth in Cornwall and the surrounding area,” said Deborah Moore, Branch Director for Intact.

Peter Labelle, President of the Sunrise Rotary Club and IT Manager at the Cornwall branch of the CMHA said that this funding will go along way towards supporting mental health promotion in the region and breaking the stigma around mental illness.

“Mental health promotion is something that is not funded by the Ministry of Health,” said Labelle.

Rotary member and Manager at Warner Insurance Sebastian Warner said that he was happy to help support that cause.

“We see a need and applied for the funding,” said Warner.

Funding was provided through the Intact Foundation, which since 2004 has donated over $31 million to charitable causes across the nation.
