Pink Shirt Day is celebrated in Canada on the last Wednesday of February each year.

The first Pink Shirt Day took place in 2007. Twelfth graders Travis Price and David Shepherd of Berwick, Nova Scotia bought 50 pink shirts after Chuck McNeill was bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school. They shared the t-shirts with their classmates to take a stand against bullying, and the rest is history.

Now, each year, communities around the world celebrate Pink Shirt Day, not only by wearing pink shirts but also sharing bullying resources, hosting anti-bullying events and rallies, supporting organizations who are against bullying and much more.
