SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – The Raisin Region Conservation Area (RRCA) is preparing for their 18th annual Family Fishing Day at Gray’s Creek.

“Our Family Fishing Day is always held during License-Free Family Fishing Week, so participants don’t have to worry about obtaining a license for the event.  Our event introduces responsible fishing techniques along with fish identification tips,” said Lissa Deslandes, RRCA Community Liaison.

Running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the event will have prizes, a BBQ and face painting.

The event is open to everyone, even those who do not have fishing gear. Limited quantities of fishing rods can be borrowed at the event from the RRCA.

“Our event typically attracts hundreds of participants from experienced anglers to beginners. There will be several prize categories, from largest fish caught to the smallest,” said Deslandes.
