CORNWALL, Ontario – The weather cooperated for the Sisters Strong 2021 fundraiser held at Archie’s on Saturday August 14.  Andrea Hum, a member of the organizing team, mentioned approximately $24000.00 was raised for the Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario and the Scleroderma Society of Ontario.

Hum commented how the fundraiser was designed to promote awareness and raise funds for the two groups because organizers “wanted to support a family going through a difficult time by raising awareness and funds for the two charities that have directly impacted their lives”.

In addition to a core team of four volunteers who were involved in the planning, there were close to 20 volunteers at Archie’s the day of the event.  Available for sale at the event were some beautiful bracelets and scrunchies made by youthful members of the team.

Once participants paid the $30.00 “All You Can Swing” registration fee they were able to play Mini Putt, a round of golf on the Par 3, practice their swing on the driving range or play a game of Foot Golf.   There was also an in person silent auction as well as an online auction.

Hum expressed her appreciation for the work done by the team of volunteers before thanking the local community and businesses for their support.  She extended special gratitude to Archie’s for all the support they provided for the fundraising event.
