CORNWALL, Ontario – This year’s fashion fundraiser in support of Maison Baldwin house is sure to wow its attendees, taking place at the Cornwall Civic Complex for the first time, with a bigger stage, more stations, lavish food and drinks and several hot items to be bid on.

“It’s really elevating it from a small town fashion show to a big city…it’s in the details,” said Danielle MacNeil, Public Educator and Volunteer Coordinator at Maison Baldwin House.

For $100 on Thursday, Oct. 17, guests can arrive and have their photo taken by Brittany Delorme on a luxurious red carpet set made by Presentex Canada Inc. of Long Sault. Once inside the venue, which will hold double the capacity as previous shows, attendees can enjoy food – provided by Table 21 and Fairy Sweet – as well as several alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

Attendees can also indulge in a number of pampering stations, where they can have their hair and makeup done by the Loft Salon and enjoy a massage. Guests can also enjoy music from DJ Stacy McPhail and entertainment from EmCee Bill Halman.

MacNeil said this year’s runway will be comprised of current, cohesive looks with handpicked models. Clothing will come from Serendipity Boutique and French Dressing Jeans, one of the show’s main sponsors. Male models will also be gracing the stage for the first time this year, dressed by the Squire Shop. A number of live auction items, including brand names like Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton and Fendi will be up for grabs along with 60 silent auction items donated by community members. Pommier Jewellers has also donated a number of prizes that attendees can win.

Last year’s show raised $25,000 for Maison Baldwin House. Maison Baldwin House’s Mission is to assist women and their children in the transition from violent and abusive circumstances to a safe and secure environment. The organization’s thrift store Serendipity Boutique offers new clothes and items to those who utilize the shelter, assisting them with a fresh start, along with accepting community donations and serving as a trendy fashion hub. Executive Director Debbie Fortier will speak during the event along with a special guest who will explain her journey through various shelters.

Tickets can be purchased at Royal Lepage, The Loft Salon, The Coffee Shop and Serendipity Boutique.
