Brookdale overpass reduced to one lane next week

CORNWALL, Ontario – As of Monday, March 11, the Brookdale Ave. overpass that spans that CN Railway line will be reduced to one lane.

This will be a continuation of the construction that began in the summer of 2018 and will continue until Aug. 2019.

“The lane closure is required for the completion of work on the bridge, to accommodate the contractor’s equipment and to ensure the safety of both workers and the public,” reads a statement from the City of Cornwall.

Traffic over the bridge will be controlled by a temporary traffic light.

As shown in the image above, the City of Cornwall is recommending that drivers use Power Dam Dr., Pitt St. and McConnell Ave. as alternative North-South corridors.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any traffic delays throughout the duration of the project,” the City’s statement concludes.
