CORNWALL, Ontario – As of Monday, April 1, individuals who park in the city will no longer have to display a parking ticket in their vehicle dash.

Instead, they will now have to enter their license plate number at the machine when paying for parking. This more modern system will save paper and allows by-law enforcement officers to remotely access payment information.

The following is a list of locations in which the new pay-by-plate system will come into effect:

  • First and Pitt lot (70 Pitt Street)
  • Warrington Brown lot (39 First Street East)
  • Bingo lot (26 Second Street West)
  • Assaly Lane (235 Pitt Street)
  • Library lot (224 Sydney Street)
  • City Hall (360 Pitt Street)
  • Courthouse (29 Second Street West)
  • 28 Second Street East
  • 29 Second Street East
