CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is requesting the assistance of the public in providing a safe environment for participants in the Santa Claus Parade, as well as its’ spectators. The parade will commence at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, from “St-Lawrence Intermediate School” located at 1450 Second St. E. and will travel westbound on Second St. from Anthony St. to York St. Traffic will not be allowed on Second Street from 4:30 p.m. until the end of the parade. Augustus Street will also be closed to traffic between Second Street and Water Street during this time.
Please note that “No Parking” signs will be posted on Second Street from Anthony Street to Augustus Street. We ask for the public’s assistance with having all vehicles moved from Second Street prior to 3:30 pm. CPS officers will use their discretion to tow vehicles in contravention of the posted signs.
Officers will be on scene to ensure the safety of the participants and the general public. Detours may be necessary in order to reduce the interaction between vehicles and pedestrians, as well as parade participants.
