CORNWALL, Ontario – Community members were anticipating Free Dental Day at Dr. Rachel Navaneelan’s Family and Cosmetic Dentistry on Friday, April 5, lining up as early as 5:30 a.m. until the office opened at 8:00 a.m.
According to Kim Lauzon, Executive Director of Rachel’s Kids, typically 50 to 80 people attend the office on Free Dental Day.
“When they come into the office they can either get a cleaning, filling or extraction done and it’s completely free. We do this for community members that don’t have any insurance, so they don’t have to pay anything at all. Everything is covered by Dr. Navaneelan,” said Lauzon.
Lauzon explained that sometimes Dr. Navaneelan may see patients who don’t have the means to pay for the services they need.
“She’s a big believer in giving back to the community. So, this is how she can do her part…she’s so compassionate, she has such a big heart, she always wants to do the best she can,” said Lauzon.
“We are giving back to the community. This is our fourth year and we just want to help out and give back,” said Dr. Rachel Navaneelan.
Community members can visit the office until it closes at 1 p.m.
