CORNWALL, Ontario – The Ministry of Natural Resources is reporting that Cornwall experienced a minor earthquake on Tuesday morning, Dec. 17.
The quake occurred at around 9:19 a.m. and measured a magnitude of 2.9MN at a depth of 18 km.
The quake struck southwest of Cornwall near the St. Lawrence River, close to Massena.
The Ministry of Natural Resources state that they have not received any reports of damage or injuries and do not expect to as they classify the quake as being relatively minor. The Ministry did state however, that those near the epicentre of the quake likely did feel some rumblings.
