CORNWALL, Ontario – The Agapè Centre Board of Directors has announced that they have selected a new Executive Director.

The Board has hired Lisa Duprau. Duprau is taking over from Joh Ann Couture who moved on from the position earlier this year.

“The board is excited about Lisa’s vision,” said Maurice Dupelle, board chair. “We hope the community will join us in welcoming Lisa to her new role.”

In a news release, the Agapè Centre Board of Directors cite Duprau’s experience in managing a thrift store, managing fundraisers, managing residential support staff and as a counsellor as some of her key qualifications for the job of Executive Director.

In a statement to Seaway News Duprau outlined her vision for the Agapè Centre.

“My vision for the Agape Centre is to secure sustainable funding, expand on the current success of the New For You thrift store and create more programs that support people in our community who struggle with food insecurity,” she wrote. “We have an exceptional team at the Centre who are all dedicated to providing people with the best services possible. I am looking forward to working with all the staff, volunteers and the Board of Directors as we move forward into 2020.”
