What’s open and what’s closed for the Civic Holiday

CORNWALL, Ontario – Many services and business hours of operation will be changed on Monday, Aug. 5 during the Civic Holiday.

Municipal services

The Cornwall Public Library and Cornwall Transit offices will be closed and buses will not be running on Monday, Aug. 5. Garbage and recycling collection will not take place on Monday and will be delayed by one day for the week. The municipal landfill will also be closed on Monday.

The Aquatic Centre, Benson Centre, splash pads and outdoor pools will be unaffected by the Civic Holiday and maintain their usual hours. The Civic Complex will be open for walkers and joggers from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Local business

The LCBO on Brookdale Avenue will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. while the Second Street location will be closed. The Beer Store on Sydney Street will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Cornwall Square will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Food Basics on Second Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday.  Shoppers Drug Mart on Second Street will be open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Baxtrom’s Your Independent Grocer will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
