SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police and Iroquois Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle fatal collision on County Road 16 in South Dundas Township.
Shortly after midnight on July 27, a Mazda 6 was travelling southbound on County Road 16 at Jackson Road when it left the road and hit a tree causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames.
The lone occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
The roadway was closed for several hours and is now open.
The SD&G OPP officers and OPP Technical Collision Investigators are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
