Teen takes vehicle after family dispute

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On Feb. 13, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to report of a family dispute at a residence in North Dundas Township (north of Chesterville).

Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and a family member resulted in the suspect taking a vehicle, intentionally colliding with another and leaving the scene. He was located by officers and arrested.

A 19-year-old male from Champlain Township is charged with;

– Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 7, 2017. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

 

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On Feb. 13, 2017 an SD&G OPP officer conducting speed measuring enforcement in South Glengarry Township intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit was seized for seven days in accordance to policy.

– Feb.13, 2017 – 10:37 p.m. (Highway 401-South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 176km/h (100km/h zone). A male driver, 21, from Ottawa, Ontario charged accordingly.
