SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Jan. 09, 2019 at approximately 1:02 p.m., Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hwy 401, South Stormont Township. The vehicle failed to comply with the request and continued on until it was successfully intercepted by officers, without incident. 

As the vehicle continued on it was traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles was impounded and his driver’s permits seized for seven days in accordance to policy and was charged with Stunt Driving (Hwy Traffic Act).The vehicle was stopped for travelling 209km/h in a 100km/h zone.

A 16-year-old male driver of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec was arrested and is charged with:

– Flight while pursued by peace officers

– Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Feb. 21, 2019.
