CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Cornwall and SD&G.

UPDATE: Environment Canada has lifted the Special Weather Statement, around 10 centimetres of snow is now forecasted for the area.

The snow is expected to start on Tuesday evening and could continue until Thursday. The bulk of it however, will come down on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

"A low pressure system from Northern Manitoba is making its way to the east coast of the United States, bringing more snow to the area Tuesday afternoon," read the weather statement from Environment Canada.

While the snowfall will not reach Weather Warning criteria of 15 centimetres in 12 hours, it is the second blanketing of snow to hit the area in two days, with residents in Cornwall and the United Counties waking up buried under snow on Monday morning.
