Akwesasne man facing five charges

CORNWALL, Ontario – Cortlon Skidders, 20, of Akwesasne was arrested on July 23, 2018 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief, breach of recognizance for failing to report, as well as breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace.

It is alleged on July 17, 2018 the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged the man failed to report on July 3, 2018, despite his conditions. Additionally, on July 21, 2018 the man was allegedly operating a motor vehicle and failed to stop at the port of entry. He then drove in a dangerous manner, damaging the Port of Entry gates. On July 23, 2018 the man attended the Port of Entry to deal with the matter and police were contacted. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
