ARMED AND DANGEROUS: Parole violators believed to be in Akwesasne

CORNWALL, Ontario – A pair of armed and dangerous parole violators may be on the loose in Akwesasne, say police.

The St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police said Edward M. Logan, 27, and John D. Logan, 30, have fled from state parole and are believed to be in Akwesasne, the Watertown Daily Times reported last week.

The police service covers the U.S. portion of the reserve.

The brothers were arrested in March 2012 on charges of first-degree assault and during the course of an incident at that time both men went to a residence where another person was shot in the leg.

Both men were convicted, but once paroled escaped contact with authorities. The men are considered dangerous, and Edward Logan is believed to be armed, said the Daily Times.

Edward Logan was sentenced to three years after a second-degree assault conviction, while John Logan got two years for the same.

Anyone with information about their location is asked to call the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police at 518-358-9200.

Residents are advised not to approach the men.
