CORNWALL, Ontario – Bringing laughter and charity together, the 2018 Comedy Fundraiser at the Agora Centre in Cornwall, ON brought close to 300 people to do just that on Saturday night, April 28, 2018.
Hosting five great names in comedy, patrons were able to enjoy cold beers, amazing jokes and the gift of giving to a Ugandan village called Ogooma.
Roger Lee organized the event and has been helping Ogooma for almost eleven years.
“This is the most rewarding thing I have done in my life, and in general we get pretty good support from local businesses,” said Roger sincerely.
Roger pays for his own airfare to get to Ogooma and all proceeds from fundraisers like Saturday night’s Comedy show go to helping women and families start their own local businesses.
The five comedians, Gino Durante, Steve Love, Neil Janna, Wafik Nasralla, and Alastair McAlastair were a definite sight to see and all have earned their strips as comedians.
Roger Lee estimated that the night’s total amount of donations received would pass $4,000 with funds from Friday’s show at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club adding to that.
“It’s one heck of a show, they are funny! They are beyond funny,” exclaimed Roger.
