CORNWALL, Ontario – Authorities are urging residents of Alexandria to boil their tap water before drinking it after a water main break near Mill Square in the downtown area.
The Township of North Glengarry and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) issued preventive advisories on Saturday.
According to a statement on the township’s Facebook page: “Water could be interrupted during the repair process in the vicinity of the break. Affected residents and institutions will have to boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the boil water advisory is lifted.”
Tap water can still be safely used for baths, showers, laundry, and doing dishes.
