BOSTON BRUINS: Former stars playing charity game in Akwesasne

CORNWALL, Ontario – Boston Bruin fans should circle Dec. 6 on their calendars, because some of their heroes will be close by.

Former Bruins like Ray Bourque, John Wensink, Terry O’Reilly and a host of others will play a collection of all-stars from Akwesasne at the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena on Cornwall Island.

The puck drops at 4 p.m., followed by a junior B game at 7 p.m.

A similar contest was held last year involving the Montreal Canadiens.

Other former Buins playing in the game include Bob Sweeney, Bruce Shoebottom, Bruce Crowder, Tim Sweeney, Jay Miller, Tom Fergus, Reggie Lemelin, Ken Linseman, Rick Smith and Captain Rick Middleton.

The team will be coached by Brian Goodleaf.

The lineup for the Akwesasne Mohawks includes Nathan Sunday, Tyler Sunday, Carey Terrance, Randy Connors, Adam Thompson, Steven Thomas Jr., Scott “Butter” Thompson, Owen Swamp, Casey Swamp, Josh Jacobs, Roddy McKenzie, Mark Thomas, Ian Mitchell, DeCota Thompson, and Dan Garrow. Coaches are Floyd Lahache and Mac Thomas.

Tickets are now on sale for $25 in advance, and can be purchased at the following businesses: Akwesasne Sports, A’nowara’ko:wa Arena, and the MCA Economic Development office. You can also purchase tickets from any player from the Akwesasne Jr. B Wolves and the Akwesasne Minor Wolves. 

Buy your tickets in advance for $25; tickets at the door will cost $30.
