SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – The Township of South Glengarry is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first Boys and Girls Club Cornwall/SDG (BGC) Summer Program in Williamstown.
Throughout the summer 240 day camp spaces became available for South Glengarry children between the ages of six to twelve. The convenience and availability to families was one of the reasons South Glengarry Council invited BGC Cornwall/SDG to deliver a high-quality summer program. The young participants enjoyed a variety of programming that focused on positive activities through creative learning, physical movement, and social engagement.
Program Assistant, Shawna Seguin, expressed her thanks to Township Staff for making the program run smoothly with daily access to the arena floor and splash pad. “This is our first year running a BGC Summer Camp in Williamstown and we are looking forward to many more. As Camp comes to an end our members will celebrate the successful summer by hosting an End of the Summer Party that will consist of fun water games and a delicious barbecue for our members.”
As the camp wraps up for the summer, Councillor Lang and Councillor McDonell presented Ms. Seguin with a certificate of appreciation and thanked the BGC for operating a fun and safe environment for South Glengarry youth. “The Township is very pleased with the BGC Cornwall/SDG Staff and programming, and we look forward to working with the Boys and Girls Club for what is sure to be a successful partnership”, said Tim Mills CAO.
