Car smashes through convenience store in east-end Cornwall

CORNWALL, Ontario – A small car rocketed into a convenience store in east end Cornwall Sunday at around midday.

The vehicle smashed through the front of the Mac’s Milk in the Eastcourt Mall.

Plenty of photos of the carnage were making the rounds on social media Sunday.

Witnesses were suggesting the driver of the car was consicous and moving about shortly after the incident.

Police, firefighters and paramedics are at the scene.

Gabriel Riviere-Reid happened upon the accident after it had occured.

No one appears seriously hurt,” he said in an interview.

Barb Bovington was also nearby when the car plowed into Mac’s.

I was leaving the dollar store and headed to Subway and Tim Hortons when it happened,” she said. “I believe someone hit the gas instead of the brake, but I’m not 100 per cent sure.”

Police have said there no injuries to the two people in the sedan, nor the handful of individuals in the store when the incident took place.
