CORNWALL, Ontario – Alex’s Army is only growing stronger, despite his untimely passing.

Tears ran down the face of Britney Truelove as she entered the Christmas-themed vendor sale in support of her late son Alexander ‘The Warrior’ Lazore.

The Akwesasne boy passed away Friday morning after battling an aggressive cancer since last spring.

“There’s way more supporters than I thought would be – it helps a lot,” said Truelove, a Cornwall-Akwesasne resident with roots in Lancaster. “This really makes me feel like I’m not alone.”

Some of her closest friends, Shawna Prevost, Linda MacDonald-Bourck, and Violet MacNeil organized the fundraiser, which took place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 in Cornwall.

The event featured 30-plus vendors and raised over $1,500 to help the family with funeral expenses.

Alex also leaves behind his father, Basil ‘Moose’ Lazore, and older sister, Kira, 3.

A gofundme page has also been set up and already generated more than $3,300 in aid.
