CORNWALL, Ontario – The City of Cornwall has announced that construction will be resuming at the Marleau and McConnell instersection.

The work began last summer, but paused in the late fall of 2016 for the winter season.

Since that time, Ninth Street, which is what Marleau becomes after crossing McConnell, has been reduced to one lane in both directions.

“The contractor is preparing to resume construction activities on the site and coordination is underway with sub contractors for electrical installation for street lights and traffic signals, utility relocation and construction of a retaining wall,” the City’s statement reads. “This work needs to be completed before continuing with final concrete work and paving.”

The City announced that it expects the project to be done sometime in the middle of this summer and that so far it is on schedule and budget.
