CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwal Community Police Service (CCPS) in partnership with the RCMP, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Cornwall Lunker Club and the Cornwall Optimist Club held their annual Cops & Kids Fishing Day at Marina 200 on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018.

Around 35 kids came out to get a chance to fish with local police officers.

Members of the RCMP and the Ministry of Natural Resources provided boat rides on their police watercraft on the St. Lawrence River.

The Optimist Club provided lunches for all, and the Cornwall Lunker Club was on hand to help teach the kids how to properly fish.

“This event is great for the kids who don’t normally have an opportunity to go fishing,” said CCPS Cst. Patrick Huygen.
