Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) blotter update.

CORNWALL, Ontario –  Today’s Cornwall police blotter highlights: a double dose of drug-related charges, a family dispute ending in text-threats, and a foiled copper heist.

Copper caper solved

Police reported that from July 11 to 14, various copper cables were taken from the wastewater treatment plant on Montreal Road.

The Criminal Investigation Division arrested Ashley Foster, 24, and Justin Rainey, 25, in connection with the incident at their residence on Thursday.

Both were charged with break and enter and released to appear in court on August 19.

Drug charges lead to jail cell

A mixed variety of narcotics landed a 34-year-old city man behind bars on Thursday.

During an unrelated investigation, police reportedly found Kristopher Blondin with a quantity of controlled substances.

Later that day, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter.

The man was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Telephone tough guys need to learn some new communication tactics because once you press send there’s no turning back.

Police said a 16-year-old Cornwall youth texted her mother on July 17, threatning that she would show up at her residence and raid everything she owns.

During their investigation, police located the youth at a St.-Felix Street address, took her into custody and charged her with threats to property.

The youth was transported to police headquarters and released to appear in court at a later date.

Traffic stop nets drug bust

A 33-year-old city man drove himself right into the arms of the law on July 17.

Police reported that they found cash and cocaine on Joey Stang during a traffic Stop at Ninth Street and Sydney Street.

Members of the Cornwall Emergency Response Team then assisted the Cornwall Street Crime Unit with executing a drug warrant at the man’s residence on Andre Avenue.

Police confiscated a quantity of cocaine, marijuana and currency.

The man was held for a bail hearing.
