CORNWALL, Ontario – For 43 years, the Cornwall Kinettes have spread holiday cheer through the annual Poinsettia Drive.
According to Ellen Ogle, this year’s Poinsettia Chairperson, each Poinsettia will be sold for $5. All funds raised will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the club’s national organization of support.
Ogle explained that the plants are only four inches, so they can be used to decorate any space without being too overbearing.
“They’re nice to put on a coffee table or counter, rather than them being too big,” said Ogle.
Ogle is hoping to see the support of local individuals to help spread holiday cheer and support a worthy cause.
“When we deliver them the last week of November, it gets people in the Christmas spirit for sure,” said Ogle.
Approximately 2,500 plants will arrive at the RCAF Wing on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Ogle hopes that anyone interested will drop in for the opportunity to say hello and purchase or order a plant.
