CORNWALL, Ontario – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Dec. 19, 2018 and charged with the following:
Assault x 4
Forcible confinement x 6
Assault with a weapon
Overcome resistance (choking)
Threats
Mischief under $5,000 x 2
It is alleged between September and Dec. 19, 2018, the man assaulted his girlfriend on four occasions. The man also allegedly used a boot to assault her, as well as choked the woman. The man also prevented her from leaving the residence on six occasions, damaged her cell phone and computer, as well as made threats to kill her bird. On Dec. 19, 2018, police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
