CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Nationals will be holding their first annual Free Agent Prospect Camp this weekend, from July 21-23 at the Benson Centre.  

The camp is an opportunity for the team’s General Manager and Owners to scout out potential players for next season. The camp gets underway on Friday night with a skills assessment from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. while Saturday will feature two inter-squad games. The first will be played between 10am and noon and the other from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  A final game will be held Sunday morning between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

This year’s camp is hosting players from around the world including players from California, British Columbia, England and Russia who will all be vying for a coveted spot on the Cornwall Nationals, The Nationals are Cornwall’s professional hockey team and part of the Federal Hockey League; a developmental league feeding the ECHL.

A kiosk selling 2017/18 Nationals Season Tickets at the Early Bird rate will be set up at the Benson Centre for the duration of the camp and those looking for get their tickets, as well as some Nationals swag, can do so.

Cash, Debit, Visa, and Mastercard will be accepted.

The camp is open to the public and is free to watch. Supporters of the team are invited to join the players and staff on Saturday, July 22 at the Glengarrian Pub from 1:30 p.m.to 3 p.m. for a mix and mingle.
