CORNWALL, Ontario – Patrons who shopped throughout the reconstruction of the mall’s high-level walkways can park a little easier now.

Cornwall Square has issued an update to the repair and maintenance work underway on its parking garage.

The first of two complex engineering projects, which replaced the pedestrian bridges connecting the mall parking garage to the shopping centre, was completed on September 30.

Since April, access to the mall from Pitt Street was prohibited. Vehicles were only able to enter via the Sydney/Water Street intersection.

Now, the roadway between the parking garage and the shopping centre has been re-opened to two-way traffic.

The second project, slated to begin mid-October, focuses on the ongoing maintenance and repair of the parking garage.

“This project will have minimal impact on vehicular and pedestrian traffic,” said Karen Burns, Cornwall Square property manager in a media statement.

“A reputable national engineering firm has been retained for design services and review of construction activities associated with both projects. Our entire team is committed to the success of these projects.”

To celebrate the completion of the pedestrian bridge replacement project and their 35th anniversary, Cornwall Square is giving away a dream kitchen valued at $8,500, which includes Sears Kenmore Elite fridge, stove, dishwasher, and, microwave and a $2,000 Emard Bros. Lumber gift certificate.
