Cornwall woman accused of defrauding welfare by $9k

CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall woman has been accused of defrauding Ontario Works by more than $9,000.

The woman has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and police said Tuesday she failed to declare changes in her income to the Ontario Works Resource Centre between July, 2013 and January of this year.

The fraud resulted in an overpayment of $9,223.42.

Kaila Warwick, 26 was arrested and charged and then released by police to appear in court at a later date.
